MLK's Speech

Ethos- Personal credibility
Pathos-Emotional connection
Logos- Logic

Martin Luther King Speech
- He makes his speech sound well prepared.
- Tends to make the "Negros" (as he states ) lives stand out and shows the discrimination and retaliation that they have faced.
- Uses metaphors  like a sea of poverty its not a real see but it can explain what he meant.
- He has credible sources such as the United States Constitution.
- In a way he tries to make people and politicians feel guilt about the promise they made when they singed the declaration independence.
- He refers to justice and equality as if it was some divine power.
- He sounds like Ghandi that believed that no violence could bring peace and he is sure to include that in his speech.
- References  a lot to progress and a better future.
- He demonizes the Jim Crow laws and tries to have the audience think bad of them by using kids as possible victims to this un-justice.
- "Can and will change"- he tries to have people look forward to something with determination.
He makes a pause after every important sentences and lets the words sink in
